Linking Levels—Ramps and Staircases Photography Exhibit Celebrates Legacy of Architect MN Sharma : The Tribune India

On a similar note, Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi celebrates the art and artist MN Sharma, who was part of the team that designed Chandigarh. The architect left a rich legacy behind and will be remembered for his lifelong contribution to the beautiful city.

The MN Sharma Architectural Society and the Chandigarh Lalit Kala Akademi organized an exhibition on the theme, Connecting Levels – Ramps and Stairs, which included entries from the youth of Tricity. Guneet Ganger, a final year student of Chandigarh College of Architecture, has won the MN Sharma Photography Prize worth Rs 25,000. Delighted to hear the news, Guneet shared details about his photo which is of the railing of PGIMER Mess. He says, “The hospital doesn’t have a quiet day, every day is a busy day. So it was difficult to get a shot with just one subject and the ramp, but I was patient with my camera. Besides Guneet, four other photographs have been shortlisted. No less than 130 photographs were received by CLKA, among which stand out the rehearsal game of Ashna Sethi in the sector 33 housing society and the symmetrical ramp of Jeevan Jyot which has multiple elements of brick walls.
